K-State’s Morris Named Finalist for Golden Spikes Award
MANHATTAN, Kan. – Kansas State junior pitcher A.J. Morris was one of five finalists for the Golden Spikes Award, given annually to the top player in collegiate baseball, USA Baseball announced on Tuesday.



Morris, who became the first Wildcat since Craig Wilson in 1992 to earn first team All-American status, is the first Wildcat to be named a finalist for the Golden Spikes Award.

K-State’s Historic Season Comes to a Close Monday
HOUSTON, Texas – Kansas State’s historic 2009 baseball season came to a close on Monday as sixth-ranked Rice knocked off the 14th-ranked Wildcats, 13-4, in the decisive final game of the Houston Regional at Reckling Park.

Rice Blanks K-State, Forces Monday Final
HOUSTON, Texas – Rice’s Taylor Wall threw a complete-game, three-hit shutout and the Owls scored multiple runs in the fifth and eighth innings to force a Monday regional final in an 8-0 victory Monday evening at Reckling Park.

K-State’s Morris Named First Team All-American
HOUSTON, Texas – Kansas State junior pitcher A.J. Morris was one of six starting pitchers named a 2009 Louisville Slugger First Team All-American, Collegiate Baseball announced on Thursday.



The distinction is the first of Morris’ career, while the Humble, Texas, product became the first Wildcat since Craig Wilson in 1992 to earn first team all-American status.
